We (Manuela and Ron) are a couple from the Netherlands who have met eachother through the internet some 6 years ago. We emailed some time together and decided that we would meet in Scotland for the first time because Manuela had to go there for a study. Because the trip to Scotland was cancelled for Manuela we decided to meet somewhere else and fell in love with eachother. Love at first sight can happen :-) , we know that now. Manuela and i started living together in 2002 in a little town between Haarlem and The Hague near the westcoast of the Netherlands and pretty soon we decided to get married. Scotland was for the both of us our first choice for many reasons and so it happened. On may the 16th 2004 we got married in the temple at the Belladrum Estate in Beauly. We had a wonderful day, everything was just perfect and we closed Scotland in our hearts for ever. Pictures and more info here....
I had been to Scotland myself for the first time in 2000 and visited the Scottish borders, central Scotland and the Speyside. Before our wedding and during our honeymoon we visited Wester Ross, Beauly and Islay and were impressed by so much beauty, friendly people, wonderful scenery etc etc.
As a result of all that we felt terrible when we had to go back home from Scotland after our wedding and decided very soon that we had to come back to Scotland. And so it happened. In 2005 we went back for another 3 weeks. This time we spent the first week in Islay (our little piece of heaven). The second week in Morar, those sunsets.... and the third week in Wester Ross. And again we left with a feeling of home-sickness back to the Netherlands promising eachother that we would come back very soon.
Because of all the pictures we made in Scotland and the fact that i work as an IT professional i thought it would be a nice idea to build a website about Scotland as a kind of tribute to Scotland, and with the Google advertising i hope to make a little income to cover for the hosting costs. In the meanwhile i will continue working on the website so do come back. Two pictures on this page are taken in the dunes. A nature reserve that starts next to our little town and goes on untill the beach on the westcoast. Here we make lots of long walks and enjoy nature. It is a quiet area compared to the rest of the Netherlands but still we cannot do without Scotland and our big wish is moving to Scotland in the (near) future.
